Karaoke night

I just got back from my friends place. We organised a karaoke night containing the good old songs from Whitney Houston, Aqua, Radiohead etcetera, a lot of alcohol, lots of food and six people with horrible voices. Check the result below, IF YOU DARE. Haha. It was so much fun!

10 questions about... Fashion

I decided to add a new concept, named "10 questions about...", answering 10 questions about certain subjects. Of course subjective! First subject: Fashion.

1. What's the most enoying thing during shopping?
Too crowded, AND finding out that you just don't have enough money for that one perfect dress. Oh and seeing a 50-year-old taking the same garmentpieces as you did :-(

2. How often do you go shopping?
It depends on the amount of money I have. Besides I don't 'go shopping', I just pop by stores if I'm in town. And I must not search for things. Like when I need a jeans and I start looking for one, I can't find one, but if I'm not particulary looking for one, I find one on purpose.

3. Where do you buy your clothes?
Surprisingly: H&M. But I like the more 'unique' stores as well: small boutiques with more exclusive clothes.

4. Cheap or expensive?
Mainly cheap, because I'm a little bit frightned to wear expensive clothes. It's a shame to get dirt on expensive clothes, or even worse: rip it. That's not really an issue with cheap clothing. But I do have expensive clothes as well, because (if you don't rip them) they last longer than, for instance, an H&M-piece.

5. What's your favorite shopping-city?
In Holland, that's Amsterdam. Worldwide, it's Barcelona, I think. Though I was surprised about the cute shops there are in Cologne! And in Portugal there are these amazing shoppingmalls, which are perfect as well.

6. If it was up to you, which stores would you have in your town?
Without a doubt: Topshop and New Look. And if there's a chance, I would like a Bershka and Zara as well, because we don't have them in my town, only in the bigger cities.

7. How would you describe your style?
That's an hard one. I used to wear dresses every day, but slowly a grey jeans creaped into my closet, which I started to wear a lot. Then a beige chino accompanied him and since two days they have a black sister-skinny. And now I mix a lot between styles, one day it's very classic, the other day it's more rock-chick. There's not really a label for my style.

8. What would you NEVER wear?
Crogs! Seriously, I wouldn't even caught dead in them. They're the most unfeminime shoes ever. And I don't really like UGGS (might hurt a lot of people by saying this), because they don't do anything good for your figure at all. If your skinny, they look crude, and when you're carrying a little weight, they even make you bigger. And I'm not really fond of neon-colors...

9. What's the most expensive garment-piece you have?
Probably my boyfriend blazer, it was a tough one. And all of my boots, because I think it's really usefull to invest in a good pair of winter-boots.

10. And what's your favorite garment-piece?
I'm not sure, I have a lot of dresses I'm really in love with. And I think I seriously would cry if my blazer or grey jeans aren't wearable anymore, they fit with almost everything.

Pappa don't preach

So here's the promised outfit post of today. This outfit contains a story actually, because all of the pieces are new (bought in the last two weeks) and the price of the total look is not even 50 euros. The pants, blouse and shoes were all ten euros, the black top was 7 euros and the necklace was 8 euro. The bracelet was a gift from my aunt, so that brings the total costs to 45 euros. Ain't that funny? It is kind of like my favorite hobby to get clothes as cheap as possible and make it look expensive. That's probably the reason why I'd rather go shopping at the end of the summer or at the end of the winter, because that's the time the SALE finally starts. And though I think H&M is mainly too commercial, it still remains my favorite store to shop. And yes, I hate it when I see a girl wearing the same dress or shoes, but I try to wear it as unique as possible (though it is nearly impossible with the H&M-clothing hehe. I once bought a dress in Portugal at H&M, four weeks later they sold them in Holland as well and suddenly EVERYONE had one. Bummer.).

But about today. Today I went for a drink with two of my closest friends. We had a lot of coffee, food, more coffee, more food and pie and some more coffee. It was so much fun, but wayyyy too much calories haha. Which made me think why we always bother so much about calories and getting thin. Imagine yourself being a boy, lying in bed with your girlfriend, waking up in the morning, grabbing her into your arms. What would you rather feel? A bag of bones or a lot of love to hold? And of course I must admit that I'm dieting as well when I feel I'm getting bigger, but we have to face reality: no one is perfect. If you actually were thinner, would that make you happier? Maybe it will for a while, but after then, you're getting tired of always thinking about the amount of calories you're eating or drinking and everytime you eat a delicious piece of the best chocolate pie in the world, you feel guilty because you feel it flowing to your hips immediatly. And though I am not saying we all should become grease and overweight, but we should not care so much about how we look. Be yourself and remember: the more you weight, the more of you there is to love :-)

New Shoes

I am so sorry for the lack of updates! I'm working on it, but I just don't have the creativity for new outfits and everytime I do wear something cute, I can't find the guts to make a picture of it. But I promise that it'll change, starting tomorrow!

I bought this new shoes last week in Amsterdam, together with a black see-through top. I'll wear it tomorrow AND PROMISE TO MAKE A PICTURE OF IT! Thanks for your patience :-)

Tomorrow I'm heading off to Germany for a day with my cousin. We're not quite sure yet what to expect to find there (we're going to Bocholt, which is not quite known for it's good style-taste), but we'll see!
